Activities
Tairua is the ideal centrally located base from which
to explore the Coromandel Peninsula.
Hot Water Beach
20 minutes north from Tairua you will find the famous and fascinating
Hot Water Beach. Two hours either side of low tide, you can dig
your very own hot pool in the sand right on the edge of the Pacific
Ocean.
Cathedral Cove & Hahei
20 Minutes north of Tairua you will find the attractive beach of
Hahei named after the Maori chief Hei. From the lookout there is
access to Cathedral Cove, which is an impressive coastal arch, formed
by the linking of sea caves beneath a headland.
Fishing, Diving, Hire Boats
We can make reservations for you. Fishing and diving equipment

Restaurants
It is a pleasant walk to local restaurants or a short six minute ferry ride across the harbour to several more at Paku.
Golf Courses
Tairua has its own 18 hole golf course and numerous others are
only a short distance away.
Glow Worm Tunnel
There are some great bush walks including a walk through the 500m
glow worm tunnel to old gold mine workings.
